The effect modelling and statistics team comprises talented and skilled scientists and profits from considerable experience in model applications and data handling needs within the context of risk assessment. The team closely cooperates with risk assessment and field experts at RIFCON, to develop approaches and tools, which greatly benefit from the RIFCON’s extensive field and regulatory experience. This makes RIFCON a valuable and unique pillar for your registration process.
As services, RIFCON offers assessments of potential effects of plant protection products on non-target species using RIFCON-owned spatially explicit individual-based or freely available models (e.g. BEEHAVE). RIFCON also offers advanced statistical support on laboratory and field data in addition to customised data analysis including process automation.

RIFCON is keen on the implementation of good modelling practice in daily workflow and on designing feasible environmental scenarios for model application. In addition to model development and model applications, RIFCON has the competence to conduct complete risk assessments in which effect modelling approaches can be strategically embedded at higher-tiers to provide a consistent and robust registration package that is commonly discussed with Member State authorities. Our team of skilled model developers can also devise customised modelling solutions for various species of concern upon request. We also seek to share and exchange knowledge and experience via workshops. These modelling workshops are recognised and certified within the SETAC Certification of Environmental Risk Assessors Programme.
Via commonly applied organism survival (Toxicokinetics/Toxicodynamics) and population effect modelling the team is closely connected to the team Ecotoxicology and team Environmental Fate, as well as to the Field Department to compose a very rich and reliable foundation for any modelling exercise.
